Bianca & Fernando

Bianca & Fernando

Fernando and Bianca met during “Las Fiestas de Quito” in December of 2014. Bianca had not been to Ecuador in 10 years. Fernando is the childhood best friend of Bianca’s cousins on her mother’s side, whom she hadn’t seen in 25 years. Destiny brought them together and distance couldn’t keep them apart. While Bianca lived in Miami, FL and Fernando lived in Quito, Ecuador, they believed they were brought together by divine intervention, having never met before, but willing to take a risk on long distance love.

Fernando always believed that Bianca was the woman he had been waiting for and even predicted they would marry at Bianca’s favorite church in Quito, Ecuador, “La Compania de Jesus.” Bianca had to return to her life in Miami, FL, while Fernando prepared to move to the Unites States to be with her. While most couples would have to wait years to be together in the same country, Fernando and Bianca were able to overcome all long distance and travel obstacles easily and were living together by July of 2015 in Palos Heights, IL. They are expecting their first child in 2017!!

The Proposal

Fernando’s first trip to the United States began in Miami, FL. Bianca had no idea what to do while Fernando was visiting, having so many options to choose from as a travel guide. It was Bianca’s mother, Pilar, who suggested to travel on a cruise to take advantage of their time together. Bianca kept the cruise a surprise, but the bigger surprise came from Fernando.

Having never been on a cruise to the Caribbean before, Fernando was in awe of the trip. It was a fun filled adventure, including a balcony suite that woke them up to the beauty of the sunny skies and breezy ocean winds. The best part of the cruise would come on the Captain’s Night. After a delectable dinner including a surprise bottle of Bianca’s favorite, Veuve Clicquot Champagne, Fernando pulled out a beautiful ring in front of the ship’s photographer catching Bianca’s first reaction to her surprise engagement. It was an unexpected and unplanned event but the perfect engagement nonetheless!!

About The Wedding Concept

This wedding was very nice to work on because the bride is a charming person, she is an American daughter of Ecuadorian parents, so she decided to make all her concept around the Ecuador. The church selected is the most beautiful in the country and one of the most beautiful in all of America, all the decoration for the church that is baroque was done in red tones. Their photoshoot was in some historical places of the capital. Every detail that I choose, had to be related to the customs and preferences of the country.

The food to drinks and decor had to be 100% Ecuadorian. The flowers of Quito or Nardos were used in the cake. It was an unforgettable wedding for 250 guests. We had different groups of Andean music for the cocktail hour, for the dinner and party we counted on recognos bands of town and contemporaneas. It was a great wedding.

What were the challenges for this wedding? How did you manage it?

The main challenge was that the bride resided in Chicago and we had to work most things online. Her visits to Ecuador were to finalize and close contracts. We did not have a lot of time. Definitely for this type of wedding, information and accounts should be very transparent and on time.
